Ayuda FC Crowned CCSL 2011 Champions
Ayuda FC defeats Amro Travel FC to be crowned CCSL Division 4 champions
Montreal, QC – August 11, 2011 – Ayuda FC won the CCSL Summer 2011 Division 4 championship tonight by defeating the Amro Travel FC squad in penalty kicks. After a hard-fought exciting match that ended in a 1-1 tie, the Orange & Blue outscored their opponents 4-3 in penalty kicks to take home the CCSL Division 4 cup.
“It took us 4 years, but the Ayuda FC squad has finally shown their strength on the pitch by taking home this championship,” said Joe Cotugno, Vice-President of Client Services at Ayuda Media Systems, and 4-year veteran and captain of the Orange & Blue squad. “Every single player on the team deserves the credit for this win, and I am extremely proud to have been a part of the team’s success,” added Andreas Soupliotis, President & CEO of Ayuda Media Systems, and 4-year veteran of the Orange & Blue.
Amro Travel Take the Early Lead
The match started off with the Ayuda FC squad dominating the play and keeping possession of the ball mostly to themselves. However, the Amro Travel side took an early lead in the 5th minute when they capitalized on a defensive breakdown by the Orange & Blue to put one past Ayuda goalkeeper Steven Ciampanelli. “Despite owning the match until that point, we made a series of errors in our half which resulted in a goal by Amro,” commented Rosario Guglietta, sweeper for the Ayuda squad. “It was tough to accept being down by one so early in the match, but we knew there was still 55 minutes to play, so we concentrated on tightening up the defense and getting that goal back.”
Ayuda controlled the play for the remainder of first half, and fought hard to get the equalizer. At least three shots hit the goalposts or crossbar of the Amro Travel net, and several others were sent slightly wide by Ayuda defenseman Marco Manocchio, forward Guido Muzzo, and midfielder Jeff Lagendyk. Ayuda striker Stefano Vani pressed hard into the Amro zone in the 22nd minute and was fouled inside the box to earn a penalty kick attempt. His kick sailed into the net just beyond reach of the Amro goalkeeper to bring the match to a 1-1 tie.
Tensions Rise in Second Half
With both teams knowing that the championship was on the line, the tension escalated in the second half. Players on both squads fought hard for possession of the ball, and several challenges resulted in cautions early on. Ayuda midfielder Jeff Lagendyk received his first yellow card of the season for a rough challenge on his Amro opponent. However, he quickly made amends by sending a blistering shot from 30 meters out that tested the Amro goalkeeper’s ability. Ayuda striker Ivano Pirro added to the barrage of shots against the Amro net a few minutes later with a missile fired from inside the box which was stopped by the keeper.
Thomas Okeke, Ayuda midfielder, headed a well-timed cross from striker Stefano Vani just over the crossbar in the 48th minute, eliciting cheers from the Orange & Blue fans in the stands (nicknamed the Orange Tornado). With the score tied at 1 and time dwindling down, both teams turned up the pressure in the final minutes of the match. Those same fans witnessed several heated exchanges amongst players on both sides, and lots of shouting from both teams. The tensions rose to a pitch when Craig Hastings, Ayuda midfielder, was fouled by his Amro counterpart, and both players were sent off with a red card for exchanging words.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw and proceeded to penalty kicks with the Ayuda FC side missing one of their star penalty kickers, Costa Foussekis, who missed the match due to a scheduling conflict. Moreover, after having played an excellent match, Ayuda defenseman Gaetano Cardone, who had substituted in the final seconds of the match, was unable to participate in the penalty shootout.
Ayuda Wins in Penalty Kicks
With the championship on the line, each team prepared their initial lineup for the penalty shootout. Amro Travel slipped one past Ciampanelli on their first shot, while Ayuda fullback Anthony Mormina sent his opening kick over the crossbar. The tally rose to 2-0 when Amro scored on their second attempt and Ayuda striker Mark Shine’s penalty kick was stopped by the Amro keeper. With the pressure mounting, forward Ivano Pirro kept Ayuda in the game by scoring on his attempt, after Amro scored on their third try. With the shootout score at 3-1 in Amro’s favour after 3 kicks each, it was Ciampanelli’s turn to shine for Ayuda. He stopped the next two shots by Amro, while Lagendyk and Vani hit the net for the Ayuda side to bring the tally to 3 all.
Ciampanelli again came up with a brilliant save against the Amro side’s 6th kicker to give Ayuda the opportunity to take the championship. But it was Ayuda striker Guido Muzzo who would have all the glory as he chipped in a glorious penalty kick to end the shootout at 4-3 for Ayuda. “I just visualized the ball hitting the back of the net and tried not to think about the last time I was in a position to win a match on penalties,” proffered Muzzo, a 3-year veteran of the Orange & Blue, referring to his infamous miss in the semi-final round of the Summer 2010 season. “I was glad to have the opportunity to make up for last time, but I was also confident that I would make this shot,” Muzzo added.
In the stands, the Orange Tornado erupted in a frenzy of cheers and the Orange & Blue squad celebrated on the pitch as though they had just won the World Cup. “In our eyes, after 4 years of toiling in the league, winning this championship felt like winning the World Cup,” commented Ricardo Poupada, the Ayuda midfielder who was sidelined with a season-ending injury earlier in the season.

Ayuda FC Advances to CCSL 2011 Summer Finals
Fourth-place Ayuda FC defeats first-place Ye Olde Orchard FC in semi-final match to advance to Division 4 finals
Montreal, QC – August 9, 2011 – Coming off a 6-2-6 season, Ayuda has advanced to the CCSL Division 4 finals by defeating the Ye Olde Orchard squad in a heated match on Tuesday night. In what turned out to be a rather one-sided match, the Orange & Blue outscored the division-leading Ye Olde Orchard veterans by a 5-1 margin in rainy conditions.
“The team played exceptionally well, especially during the second half. I am proud of our players for playing hard to excite & inspire the world of soccer,” said Andreas Soupliotis, President & CEO of Ayuda Media Systems, and 4-year veteran of the Orange & Blue squad. “If we continue to play this well as a team, and concentrate on playing focused football, I am confident we can take the championship.”
Ye Olde Orchard Looking to Avenge Recent Loss
Ye Olde Orchard was looking to come back from a bitter loss at the hands of the Ayuda squad at the end of the regular season. After having beaten Ayuda twice in regular season play earlier in the season, Ye Olde Orchard went down to Ayuda in a 1-0 nail-biter marred by heated exchanges and tensions between the two teams on July 26.
However, perhaps emboldened by their recent win, the Orange & Blue were in no mood to indulge the Ye Olde Orchard squad. Ayuda took an early lead in the first half Tuesday night when Stefano Vani took advantage of a defensive break down on the Ye Olde Orchard side of the pitch. After Ayuda increased their lead to 2 goals thanks to a precision bullet kick by Guido Muzzo late in the first half, Ye Olde Orchard seemed poised for a come-back when they lobbed a free kick just over Ayuda’s goalkeeper to bring the score to 2-1 just before the second half.
Sea of Orange in Second Half
The second half started off with both teams fighting for possession, but ended with Ayuda scoring 3 unanswered goals against a rapidly dwindling Ye Olde Orchard side. The Black & White squad lost two players to injuries, as Ayuda ran off with the match. Jeff Lagendyk finished off a fantastic cross from Guido Muzzo by sprinting 30 yards to overpass two defensemen and tip the ball into the net to bring the score to 3-1.
It was all downhill for the Black & White from there, as Stefano Vani scored his second and third goals of the match to bring the final score to 5-1. “We played well as a team, and kept disciplined and focused. That’s what got us this win. Our pinpoint precision passing, good ball-handling, and our aggressiveness to be first to the ball, is what enabled me to score a hat-trick tonight,” recalled Vani. Vani’s three goals bring his season total to six goals, making him the second highest goal scorer on the Ayuda FC team.
The final of the CCSL Division 4 Summer 2011 playoffs will be held at the Concordia Loyola Dome on Thursday, August 11 at 9:30 pm. Ayuda FC will take on Amro Travel FC in what will surely be a hotly contested match as the teams have a 1-1-1 record between them for the regular season.

Ayuda Announces Free Splash Player Now Runs On Android And Apple Devices
Ayuda announces that its free Splash digital signage player now runs on Google Android and Apple iOS devices, including Google Tablets, Google Phones, Apple iPads, iPhones, and iPods
London, UK – May 18, 2011 - At Screen Media Expo 2011 today, Ayuda Media Systems ("Ayuda") announced that, in addition to its existing Windows and Linux support, the free Splash Digital Signage Player now also supports devices running Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS operating systems. The Splash™ Digital Signage Player is available for immediate download for free from both the Google Android Marketplace, and the Apple App Store.
With the addition of Android and iOS, the free Splash™ Digital Signage Player now supports all major desktop and tablet operating systems. This opens up a plethora of possibilities in the digital signage market space as hardware vendors and digital signage vendors continue their quest for ever-cheaper, all-in-one solutions for next-generation digital signage networks.
“With new Android-powered devices being announced every week, who knows what form factors will be available tomorrow,” contemplated Andreas Soupliotis, President & CEO of Ayuda. “Imagine a future where LED TVs will be running Android software, or where Apple releases a 15-inch iPad. With convergent devices, network operators will be able to benefit from hardware and maintenance cost savings, as well a faster time to market. Ayuda wants to be at the forefront of that future vision.”
Current tablets, including the various Android-powered tablets, and Apple’s iPads, already incorporate many of the technologies that network operators look for in a robust, efficient, hardware media player. With built-in wireless communication, solid-state drives, touch interactivity, and sophisticated heat management - not to mention gorgeous screens - the current generation of Google and iOS-powered tablets are well positioned to form the backbone of next-generation digital signage networks.
“Why would a network operator want to source, pay for, assemble, and maintain separate screens, PCs, network cards, and other components, when they could simply hang an Android-powered device on the wall?” asked Soupliotis. “Granted, the current available sizes would not work for all network operators, but Ayuda sees a future where Android-powered devices will increase in screen size. Our vision is to power any device on any platform.”
A number of companies are marketing tablet wall-mounts and stands for retail and corporate use, legitimizing the possibility of using tablets in digital signage networks. Several leading LCD manufacturers are also already toying with the idea of powering their screens with Google’s Android operating system, further lending credibility to Soupliotis’ vision. According to Soupliotis, the Splash™ Digital Signage Player will be well-positioned when Android-powered TVs hit the market. Network operators will have an easy, integrated platform on which to base their networks.
“As far as we know, Ayuda is the only software player developer to build on top of the MONO platform (a platform-invariant version of the Microsoft .Net Framework),” explains Richard Markiewicz, Ayuda’s Lead Architect on the Splash Digital Signage Player. “That technology decision has proven to have far-reaching benefits, as we were able to achieve Android and iOS support with only a few additional lines of code.”

Ayuda to Launch its Pay-per-Look Featuring Intel® AIM Suite Technology at Screen Media Expo 2011
Ayuda Media Systems’ flagship Splash DOOH platform will demonstrate the futuristic and newly productized Pay-per-Look functionality to the European market, powered by Intel® AIM Suite technology
London, UK – May 13, 2011 - Ayuda Media Systems ("Ayuda") announced today that it will be showcasing a concept demo to the European market with the integration of the Intel® AIM Suite (Audience Impression Metrics) into Splash, its flagship ERP system for DOOH networks, at the Screen Media Expo 2011 show in London. Dubbed “Pay-per-Look”, the application allows advertisers to be billed based on how many people actually looked at their ad, which can be determined by using Intel AIM Suite technology that relies on optical sensors to detect faces that turn towards the display while completely honoring privacy. Following a very warm reception from network operators and advertising agencies since the initial unveiling of the concept earlier this year to North American audiences at DSE 2011 in Las Vegas, Ayuda has decided to make the same demonstration available to the European marketplace with this announcement.
“We were astonished to witness just how much interest our initial demonstration garnered a few months ago. We have been inundated with inquiries from DOOH network operators and ad agencies regarding the possibilities of this concept,” said Andreas Soupliotis, CEO of Ayuda. “This revolutionary concept helps operators demonstrate the value of their networks to advertisers, leveraging audience tracking technology to track who has viewed the screen and then bill based on the number of “looks.” We are excited that the future of ad sales may very well see the networks charge advertisers based on how many people actually look at the ad, versus how many people are merely exposed to it.”
Current practice in the ad-based DOOH industry is to bill based on the number of impressions delivered. However, impression counts are typically based on audience measurement research that simply counts how many people are exposed to, or have the chance of being exposed to, an ad. The Pay-per-Look application takes impression counts to the next level by counting people looking at an ad, as opposed to counting people passing by an ad. By combining anonymous audience detection technology with digital signage software, it becomes possible to detect exactly how many “looks” each campaign received. This is a much more meaningful system for both the network and the advertiser, as the operator justifies the viability of the network while the advertiser benefits from being billed according to precisely how many people viewed the ad.
Ayuda has also announced that Splash now officially supports Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT), a hardware based technology for remotely and securely managing the PC. Soupliotis further states: “In keeping with our dedication to empowering the network operator, we’re also pleased to announce that with official Splash support for Intel® AMT, we make it possible for our customers to more easily remotely manage their digital signage media players. Our strategic relationship with Intel has helped us further our commitment to providing the best possible set of both management and measurement tools to the network operator.”
Jose Avalos, director of retail and digital signage for Intel’s Embedded and Communications Group, commented: “By leveraging the latest Intel technologies, companies such as Ayuda are able to continue to develop innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the digital signage industry. Pay-Per-Look is a demonstration of Intel AIM Suite at work. This type of application exemplifies Intel’s commitment to delivering key solutions for Intelligent Digital Signage networks.”
Ayuda, developers of Splash, an ERP system for digital signage networks that includes content management software as well as a digital player, has been developing solutions for the OOH industry for over seven years and has invoiced over a quarter of a billion dollars in OOH billing. Meanwhile, the Intel AIM Suite technology will enable any network operator to detect, analyze, and audit audience measurement data, and have a clear picture of how digital signs are influencing audience behavior.

Ayuda Shifts Media ERP Platform To Microsoft’s Azure Cloud
Leading OOH/Digital OOH media management platform adds uncompromising agility and efficiency for clients through cloud computing; strengthens service levels and security
LAS VEGAS - Ayuda Media Systems is giving media industry clients even more agility and efficiency to meet their shifting business demands by moving its Enterprise Resource Planning service to Microsoft’s Windows Azure cloud computing platform.
Announced at this week’s Digital Signage Expo trade show in Las Vegas, the move to Azure allows Ayuda and its Out Of Home and Digital Out Of Home media clients around the globe to make on-demand changes in computer processing and data storage requirements using simple, web-based controls.
“We’ve run our own cloud service up until now and it has served us well, but moving to Azure gives us an incredible amount of flexibility in how we work with our customer,” says Andreas Soupliotis, President and CEO of Ayuda. “If we have a client contact us and say, ‘We need more CPU power’, we can literally go into the Azure control console online and add more horsepower with just a couple of clicks.”
Azure gives Montreal-based Ayuda instant scalability to meet any client demands for short-term, large-volume computing or batch processing. Microsoft’s global server farm footprint also markedly strengthens Ayuda’s service level and disaster recovery position. “Prospective customers challenge us on issues like redundancy and recovery processes, and while we’ve always had a good scheme in place, Azure makes us bulletproof,” explains Soupliotis.
Ayuda has redesigned and fully tested its applications to call into and interact with the Azure platform.
Digital Out Of Home media network operators can find out more about Ayuda’s cloud capabilities this week at the DSE 2011 trade show in Las Vegas, Feb. 23-24. Ayuda has an exhibit hall booth (# 1829), where it will be demonstrating its Splash™ ERP platform.
Splash™ is a comprehensive media management system for Digital OOH networks that includes asset management, granular scheduling and targeting, dynamic and static loop templates, peer-to-peer content distribution, and network monitoring. Splash™ ties in seamlessly with Ayuda’s BMS software suite, which includes modules for billing and invoicing, leasing, mapping, proof of performance, and reporting.
Ayuda executives will also be available to discuss the recently announced OpenSplash™, a free, multi-platform open source media player that can be driven by any digital signage/DOOH content management and scheduling system.

Ayuda to Showcase Futuristic Pay-per-Look Concept Featuring Intel® AIM Suite Technology at DSE 2011
Ayuda Media Systems’ flagship Splash DOOH platform will showcase conceptual demo of future Pay-per-Look integration possibilities of Intel® AIM Suite technology
Las Vegas, Nevada – February 23, 2011 - Ayuda Media Systems ("Ayuda") announced today that it will be showcasing a concept demo with the integration of the Intel® Anonymous Impression Metrics Suite (Intel® AIM Suite) into Splash, its flagship ERP system for DOOH networks, at the DSE 2011 show in Las Vegas. Dubbed “Pay-per-Look”, the concept will allow advertisers to be billed based on how many people actually looked at their ad which can be determined by using Intel® AIM Suite technology that relies on optical sensors to detect faces that turn towards the display while completely honoring privacy.
"Technology allows us to create ever more meaningful ways to bring an advertiser’s message to the right audience,” said Andreas Soupliotis, CEO of Ayuda. “The future of ad sales might see network operators charge advertisers based on how many people actually look at an ad, as opposed to how many people are exposed to an ad, as is the case today.” Pay-per-Look is a revolutionary concept in ad-based advertising that will leverage audience tracking technology to track who has viewed the ad, and bill advertisers based on the number of “looks”.
Current practice in the ad-based DOOH industry is to bill based on the number of impressions delivered. However, impression counts are typically based on audience measurement research that simply counts how many people are exposed to, or have the chance of being exposed to, an ad. The Pay-per-Look concept would take impression counts to the next level by counting people looking at an ad, as opposed to counting people passing by an ad. By combining anonymous audience detection technology with digital signage software, it becomes possible to detect exactly how many “looks” each campaign received.
The integration of this technology demonstrates much promise for both network operators and advertisers. Using the Pay-per-Look concept, network operators could have the metrics to prove the viability of their network and advertisers would benefit by only paying for people who actually view their ad. Soupliotis explains further: “This is a concept demo, much the same way car manufacturers demo concept cars at auto shows. While the Pay-per-Look concept is futuristic, it offers insight into a possible world where DOOH billing resembles the Internet’s Pay-per-Click success as proven by Google AdWords.”

Ayuda Announces OpenSplash – a free, open source digital signage player
At ISE 2011, Ayuda announces that it will donate its splash digital signage player to the industry as an open source initiative
Amsterdam, NL – February 1, 2011 - Ayuda Media Systems ("Ayuda") announced today at ISE 2011 that it will be open sourcing its Splash Digital Player. Dubbed “OpenSplash”, it is a free, multi-platform open source player that can be driven by any content management and scheduling system.
“Offering a free, open source media player will enable a new wave of innovation in the signage industry” said Andreas Soupliotis, President & CEO of Ayuda. “There are a multitude of software vendors in the space that basically all do the same thing – push content from a content management system (CMS) to a network of players. Some do it a little better than others but the differentiation of identity is just not there. If there were a standard open software player that the industry rallied behind then everyone could focus on innovating next generation signage opportunities. Each year at DSE, ISE and Screenmedia Expo you’ve got the same vendors showing marginal improvements on their software. Innovation is stagnant. OpenSplash might hopefully change that. By embracing a copyleft-oriented mindset, we expect to see exciting innovations and extensions to the player developed by an open-source community.”
Soupliotis continued by explaining some of the benefits of OpenSplash: “Larger digital networks often opt to build bespoke CMS and players. These kinds of networks could cut their development costs by extending an already-existing open source player. You don’t want to reinvent the wheel. Besides, the secret sauce for these networks lies in their complex CMS, not in the player.” He added: “Screen vendors also stand to benefit from OpenSplash. They can focus on what they know how to do best – hardware while potentially bundling a free open source player.” Soupliotis also believes that DOOH aggregators benefit from OpenSplash: “Aggregators should also like to see an open source player, as it means they would not have to perform silos of one-by-one integration efforts with each software vendor in order to fulfill campaign execution. More importantly, they will be able to deliver a single proof-of-play report to the advertiser across several networks for a single buy.”
Aside from operating as a simple SMIL-based player by consuming SMIL playlists and content, OpenSplash can also double as a more intelligent rules-based player that can manage dynamic loops and create playlists on the fly. Supporting video walls, frame synchronization across multiple players, zones, and dynamic content, it is designed to be driven by any SaaS-based CMS because the player consumes a set of standard Web services for pulling schedules and content. The source code that makes up OpenSplash is written mostly in the modern C# programming language, and is built on open and platform-invariant standards such as Mono, FFMpeg, and MPlayer. As with most signage players, it has full support for H.264 1080p video, flash, HTML5 and many other formats. It runs on Linux, Windows and Android operating systems.
OpenSplash is a project that was inspired and championed by Adrian Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief of DailyDOOH. Cotterill commented on OpenSplash: “There’s no doubt in my mind that this initiative will kick start even more innovation in our industry. Screen manufacturers will be able to build robust players that support every inch and every feature of their displays, online aggregators will be able to collect data direct from players and network management tools will be able to better collect proof of play information, to name but a few uses.”
Cotterill added “This initiative will also attract new developers and even bring academia into the fold, fostering even more innovation. This is truly an exciting announcement.”
OpenSplash will be made available to the general public in Q2 of 2011. Current efforts include implementing an open source community portal for support forums, shared source code control, knowledge base articles, versioning of enhancements, and code documentation.

To better reflect their expanding product portfolio, Ayuda rebrands BMS Digital as Splash
Montreal, Canada – January 31, 2011 - Ayuda Media Systems ("Ayuda") today announced that it will be rebranding its flagship ERP system for DOOH networks as Splash. The move aims to better reflect and differentiate Ayuda’s expanding portfolio of products which now includes BMS - ERP software for the traditional out-of-home industry; Splash (previously BMS Digital) - ERP, CMS, and free software player for the ad-based DOOH industry; and the soon to be launched Symphony - a comprehensive buying platform for the entire OOH industry.

OAA relaunches as Outdoor Media Centre
The Outdoor Advertising Association (OAA) today relaunches itself as the “Outdoor Media Centre”
London - The rebrand comes as the OAA moves its primary focus to the inter-media planning process at agencies and advertiser clients - repositioning as a resource centre, a service to support everyone who plans media and is looking for arguments in favour of outdoor.
The Outdoor Media Centre will market the outdoor medium - celebrating change, heralding the new campaigns, and putting its weight behind the new industry audience research launching soon. Meanwhile it retains the role as the trade association for outdoor media owners and continues to lobby on behalf of its members, to deal with central and local government, to promote good practice in health and safety and to engage in environmental issues.
New website www.outdoormediacentre.org.uk also launches today to represent the new positioning by providing an information gateway which is more customer-facing and user-friendly. It is now easy to find suppliers and to search among the media owner members. Statistics, photos, videos and “10 reasons why” arguments for outdoor advertising make the site more inter-active.
The repositioning has been supported by heavy-weights of the media industry, such as OMD’s Steve Williams, Carat’s Tracy De Groose and MediaVest’s Steve Parker sharing their views on the benefits of outdoor advertising on the new website.
Jeremy Male, chairman of the Outdoor Media Centre, said: “With the bidding for outdoor advertising around the Olympics and the new outdoor audience research coming up, 2011 and 2012 are very exciting years for the outdoor industry. It is time for advertisers and agencies to reappraise the role of outdoor. This re-launch will benefit the whole industry.”

Ayuda Announces Free Online Buying System for Entire Out-of-Home Industry
Industry veteran develops free-to-all, online buying system to facilitate and automate the purchase of traditional and digital out-of-home
New York, NY - November 1, 2010 - Ayuda Media Systems ("Ayuda") announced today that it is releasing a new online buying system for the out-of-home ("OOH") industry that will make traditional and digital OOH easier to buy. The system, which is free to network operators and agencies, called Symphony, is a Web-based software platform that allows OOH buyers to put together and procure an OOH campaign in seconds. "Buying and posting an ad on the Internet today takes seconds thanks to Google AdSense. We feel that traditional and digital OOH should be just as easy," said Andreas Soupliotis, CEO of Ayuda. "We’ve been developing solutions for the OOH industry for 7 years, so we feel we are uniquely positioned to understand the needs of OOH media buyers," referring to the success Ayuda has experienced with its industry-renowned BMS software for network operators.
Symphony is a free buying platform that enables media buyers to manage media plans and offers more visibility into the world of traditional and digital out-of-home. Media buyers can use the system to browse digital and traditional OOH networks, drill into networks, look at associated media measurement data such as Eyes On Ratings (for traditional OOH assets), detailed venue profile information (for digital OOH assets), as well as demographics, maps, photos, and videos. Optional functionality includes digital campaign execution, proof of performance/play, and creative trafficking. "This is the richest exchange platform out there," Soupliotis continued, "and it’s free, both to agencies as well as media operators." Symphony will eventually connect to Planning systems such as the recently announced DPAA planning tool and other OOH panning systems, to achieve the industry’s ultimate objective of simplifying the entire D/OOH planning and buying process.
Ayuda also announced that it will customize Symphony for all participating agencies based on their specific requirements and will ensure that all their data remains confidential. Each agency will thus have their own, customized version of Symphony. Moreover, all network operator data will also remain confidential, passcode protected, and will only be accessible to agencies of their choosing.
Ayuda is the most advanced software provider to the OOH industry with over 300,000 boards under management and over $250 million in billings having been managed through its flagship BMS system. Current clients range from CBS Outdoor and Van Wagner to Eye Corp. This does not represent the first time Ayuda has come into the D/OOH arena offering a free solution to the industry. Ayuda has built the highly adopted Eyes On Web platform for the Traffic Audit Bureau for Media Measurement (TAB), and has recently co-announced an upcoming release of a DOOH planning tool developed with the Digital Place-Based Advertising Association (DPAA) that incorporates research studies from Arbitron and measurements from Nielsen. Soupliotis commented: "Symphony is being offered to the industry at no charge to network operators and agencies. The reason we chose to offer it for free is that buying exchanges do not represent rocket science and should thus be priced accordingly. The major value proposition comes from the networks themselves, not our software aggregation layer." When asked how Ayuda would monetize Symphony, Soupliotis replied "We’ll make money by selling optional additional services, such as campaign execution, and being able to tie into trafficking, billing and financial systems. Such "add-ons" will be on an "at request" basis. So if media operators and agencies just want to use the basic buying exchange system, there is no cost."

Ayuda Announces Release of BMS Digital X4
Introduces 4th-Generation Digital OOH Solution Including New Linux Player, Revolutionary Peer-to-Peer Distribution Architecture, and Enhanced Network Monitoring Capabilities
Phoenix, AZ – May 2, 2010 - At the GO! 2OIO TAB/OAAA Out of Home Media Conference and Marketing Expo, Ayuda Media Systems, developer of the world’s most advanced media management platform for D/OOH companies, today announced the upcoming release of the 4th-generation of their BMS Digital software package. BMS Digital X4 will contain innovative new functionality including a completely new Linux player, revolutionary peer-to-peer distribution technology, and enhanced network monitoring and remote management capabilities.
As digital networks grow, operating system license fees for player devices can become cost-prohibitive when large numbers of players are deployed. "The BMS Digital X4 release represents a significant milestone for Ayuda. For the first time, BMS Digital will support players running on the Linux platform. Running the BMS Digital Linux Player will help network operators decrease operating costs by reducing OS licensing costs," reports Joe Cotugno, Vice-President of Client Services at Ayuda Media Systems. "The BMS Digital Linux Player provides Ayuda’s customers the choice of using one of the hundreds of low-cost Linux-based digital media players available on the market."
Ayuda has spent the last year developing a revolutionary peer-to-peer communication infrastructure that significantly reduces content distribution times and bandwidth costs. "X4 is built upon our 4th-generation platform which includes a completely re-architected P2P distribution algorithm based on distributed hash tables (DHT)," explains Joe Cotugno. "Using P2P to distribute content across the digital network allows network operators to achieve significant cost-savings by reducing bandwidth usage between the Players and the Cloud, as well as between Players within internal local networks. In the current economic climate, any cost-savings can help justify the ROI of implementing BMS Digital."
With the BMS Digital X4 release, network operators will also benefit from enhanced network monitoring and remote management capabilities. The advanced heartbeat detection algorithms enable real-time tracking of critical network alerts, all from a centralized Cloud-based Network Monitoring Dashboard. Network managers will receive notifications and have critical network information - such as online/offline player statistics, player warnings/exceptions, player and screen threshold monitoring, bandwidth consumption and congestion rates, and content distribution issues - at their fingertips.
BMS Digital X4 is built on top of Ayuda’s flagship media management software suite, BMS. As such, BMS Digital X4 users can leverage all the functionality available in BMS, including sales proposal management, billing and invoicing, lease payouts, financial reporting, mapping, and POP.

CBS Leads OOH Industry in Delivering EYES ON Ratings to Customers
Ayuda helps CBS Outdoor lead the charge towards delivering more accurate audience data
New York, New York – May 2, 2010 - Just in time for this year’s GO! 2OIO TAB/OAAA Out of Home Media Conference and Marketing Expo, CBS Outdoor is releasing an update to their Proof Of Performance Website which will include TAB's EYES ON Ratings for all media campaigns.
As part of their pioneering commitment to phasing out DEC values in favor of the new EYES ON measurement data, and following the steps they’ve already taken in sharing EYES ON Ratings with media planners and buyers, CBS Outdoor announced this week that they will also be reporting EYES ON Ratings in the post-buy phase of media campaigns.
Jodi Senese, Executive Vice President of Marketing at CBS Outdoor, commented: "The OOH industry has just raised the bar in media measurement, and now has ratings metrics compatible with agency planning systems. This is a big step forward and CBS Outdoor fully intends to support the introduction and use of this new currency."
Agencies applauded CBS’ effort to include EYES ON Ratings as part of the Proof of Performance delivery. "I look forward to the improved transparency and accountability EYES ON will bring to the OOH market, and partners like Ayuda validating OOH delivery of CBS inventory to agencies and advertisers. This clearer picture of consumers’ experiences with OOH better demonstrates the value of the medium," said Jack Sullivan, Senior Vice President/OOH Investment Director at media agency Starcom USA. "The metrics and proof-of-performance validation – rooted in a collaborative development process –simplify the industry, making the purchase of an OOH schedule more believable for marketers, and giving advertisers a greater sense of security and trust in their OOH investments and expectations."
John Connolly, COO Kinetic Americas also had a warm reception to CBS’ initiatives to incorporate EYES ON Ratings into its Proof of Performance Web site: "I’m delighted to see CBS incorporate Eyes On ratings in their BMS powered POP system. It raises the bar yet again and it will be important for others to follow their example."
EYES ON is the currency conceived and developed by the TAB to provide more accurate audience data for the OOH industry. Whereas the previous measurement, DECs, measured the circulation of people passing a billboard or outdoor location, EYES ON measures the demographic and ethnographic audiences who are likely to see the ad.
Over five years in the making, the new currency is replacing DECs as the measurement currency in the OOH industry. Joe Philport, President of The Traffic Audit Bureau for Media Measurement, commented on CBS’ announcement: "This is a huge step toward accountability and transparency for our medium. Including demographic EYES ON Ratings in an independent 3rd party proof of performance system will build greater confidence among advertisers and help them better understand the audience weight being delivered."
As the OOH industry transitions to the new currency, CBS Outdoor leads the pack in promoting EYES ON Ratings throughout the entire planning, buying, and now also the post-buy phases of media campaigns. "It was the logical next step," adds Chris Eidt, Vice President of Information Systems & Technology at CBS Outdoor. "We already include EYES ON Ratings in our media proposals, and now advertisers and buyers can validate the EYES ON Ratings in their media plans with the EYES ON Ratings actually delivered using completion reports on our POP Website."
Working closely with their software partner, Ayuda Media Systems, CBS Outdoor has updated their online Proof Of Performance Website (http://pop.cbsoutdoor.com) to automatically report TAB's EYES ON Ratings. "CBS Outdoor is constantly looking for ways to leverage their technology assets to deliver additional benefits to their clients. The inclusion of EYES ON Ratings is yet another example of CBS’ innovative spirit at play," reports Andreas Soupliotis, CEO & Founder of Ayuda Media Systems.

Ayuda Announces Successful Delivery of Web Services Infrastructure for TAB’s New "Eyes On" Audience Measurement System
Web Services initiative will enable the proliferation of "Eyes On" data to advertisers, agencies and vendors
New York, NY – March 16, 2009
- Ayuda Media Systems announced today the successful deployment of the
to the Traffic Audit Bureau for Media Measurement. This deployment is the result of a three month effort by Ayuda and will allow TAB members to retrieve Eyes On demographic audience data for outdoor advertising in over 200 markets via industry-standard Web Services or through a dedicated Web application. The Eyes On Audience Delivery System (accessible from http://www.eyesonratings.com) is the culmination of TAB’s master plan to provide a revolutionary new outdoor media measurement system that, for the first time in the advertising industry, delivers actual ad exposure counts.
The TAB's Board of Directors voted to award the contract to Ayuda following an RFP process involving multiple out-of-home software vendors. François de Gaspé Beaubien, Executive Chairman of Ayuda Media Systems commented on the TAB’s decision: "We are delighted to have been chosen by the TAB as partners in their initiative to establish Eyes On as the lingua franca of outdoor media measurement." The decision ended an intensive search to identify the optimal out-of-home software vendor that could deliver a rich Web services platform in a strict timeframe. In awarding the project to Ayuda, the TAB Technical Committee found their proposal to be the strongest and the team highly qualified to execute the project.
Industry Standard Web Services Technology
The project undertaken by Ayuda entailed the design, development, and deployment of a comprehensive Web Services-based audience measurement delivery infrastructure. The Eyes On Web Services are a collection of programmable Web Services hosted by the TAB and designed to enable TAB members to integrate Eyes On demographics ratings into their web sites and software applications. The TAB believes that the use of Web Services as a delivery mechanism will increase the adoption of Eyes On within the outdoor industry as it will allow 3rd-party integrators to incorporate Eyes On data more easily.
The TAB also mandated Ayuda to develop a Web-based application that offers members the ability to retrieve and download Eyes On data. The Web-based data delivery tool is primarily aimed at the TAB’s smaller members that might not have an MIS department to connect to Eyes On data via Web services.

Announcing BMS.net Cloud Edition
Ayuda Gearing Up to Offer Flagship Media Management Suite via Enterprise Cloud Computing Platform
New York, NY – January 5, 2009
- Ayuda Media Systems, developer of the world’s most advanced media management platform for OOH companies, today announced their intention to offer their flagship BMS.net suite via an Enterprise Cloud Computing initiative. Media companies of all sizes will be able to deploy the world’s most sophisticated OOH management suite and benefit from the convenience, flexibility, and cost savings of utility computing.
Lowers Total Cost of Ownership of Media Management Systems
With literally hundreds of small to midsize media operators in the United States alone, Andreas Soupliotis, President & CEO of Ayuda Media Systems, explains their strategy: "Traditionally, media operators were forced to install enterprise management systems on their own hardware, requiring internal resources to manage that hardware. Not all media operators have the budget or capacity to manage such a solution. We believe that offering our software via the Cloud will enable us to capture a larger market share by attracting small to midsize media vendors who normally do not have the IT infrastructure in place to implement a sophisticated, enterprise software suite like BMS.net."
The combination of BMS.net’s fully-featured media management capabilities and the ease-of-use, flexibility, and dynamic provisioning capabilities of cloud computing platforms, provides a convenient virtual computing environment that reduces the deployment cost of media management systems by eliminating up-front capital costs for hardware and software, while also reducing ongoing IT infrastructure support costs. Based on internal estimates, BMS.net Cloud Edition can save companies up to 75 percent in the total cost of ownership of media management software.
Opens the Doors to International Expansion
With BMS.net Cloud Edition, Ayuda will be the first and only OOH software provider to offer a SaaS solution to its customers. Ayuda expects this innovation to increase its share of the OOH software market by initially attracting small to midsize OOH vendors in the U.S., and eventually by allowing Ayuda to expand to international markets such as Europe, Japan, & China.
"With over $2B in advertising expenditures last year, Japan is the second largest OOH market, after the United States. With our BMS.net Cloud offering, it will be easier for Ayuda to penetrate the Japanese market, along with the greater Asian, and European markets," says Soupliotis.
Launch Expected This Year
Ayuda plans to transition its first pilot customers to BMS.net Cloud Edition in Q3, with a full-scale rollout by end of 2009. The BMS.net Cloud Edition will offer all of the same functionality as the current on-premise solution offered by Ayuda, at a fraction of the cost. "We will realize significant cost-savings by consolidating all our clients on a single multi-tenant cloud instance of BMS.net, and will be passing on those cost-savings to our customers in the form of reduced licensing costs," adds Soupliotis.

Ayuda Announces Release of BMS.net Version 2.43
Introduces 15 New, Dynamic Finance & Sales Reports Plus Enhanced Visual Ops Functionality
New York, NY – December 16, 2008– Ayuda Media Systems, developer of the world’s most advanced media management platform for OOH companies, today announced the latest release of their flagship product, BMS.net. Version 2.43 introduces 15 new Finance & Sales Reports as well as enhanced Visual Ops functionality including the ability to schedule work orders for multiple weeks at a time.
One of the two main objectives of the latest BMS.net release is improving operational efficiencies. From copy management, to work order management, and even bill-poster management, ensuring that everything is done on time and accurately is a time-consuming process at most OOH media companies. Consequently, the enhancements to the Visual Ops functionality are all targeted towards decreasing the amount of time spent managing work orders and material. "Improving process efficiencies has always been one of our main goals," says Andreas Soupliotis, President & CEO of Ayuda Media Systems. "Each minute saved by improved efficiency, can be spent on increasing sales for the organization. This is why at Ayuda, we take process improvement to heart."
The second main objective of the BMS.net v2.43 release is empowering sales managers to make quicker decisions based on up-to-date sales & finance data. By providing sales managers with dynamic access to real-time, up-to-date sales information – as opposed to having to wait for month-end (or even quarter-end) reports to be generated – BMS.net v2.43 allows sales managers to react more quickly to changing market conditions. "If sales are slow during the month, sales managers will know immediately. They can then take proactive measures – such as discounting inventory, or creating bonus packages – to rectify the situation before the month is over," adds Soupliotis. "Conversely, if sales are surging, sales managers can react accordingly – perhaps adjusting pricing to meet demand, or shifting inventory from lower-paying campaigns."

Ayuda Announces Release of BMS.net Invoicing 2009 Package
Updated Invoicing & Finance Package Includes Automatic Transfer to General Ledger, Separate Billing and Revenue Recognition Schedules, And Automatic Credit Adjustments
New York, NY – September 16, 2008– Ayuda Media Systems, developer of the world’s most advanced media management platform for OOH companies, today announced the availability of the Invoicing 2009 Package – an integral component of their BMS.net suite of OOH management software. The Invoicing 2009 package contains innovative new features such as direct transfer to leading GL systems at the click of a button, as well as automatic credit adjustments, and separate billing vs revenue recognition schedules.
With the BMS.net Invoicing 2009 package, finance teams at OOH media companies can now transfer data directly into AR batches in leading accounting packages such as Microsoft’s Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains). The Invoicing 2009 package also supports separate billing vs revenue recognition schedules, which, when combined with the transfer to GL feature, virtually eliminate the need for manual GL adjustments. Based on the billing and revenue schedules defined in the system, BMS.net will automatically create the necessary GL entries that handle deferred revenue and accrued billing.
Some of the enhancements in the BMS.net Invoicing 2009 package include:
• Transfer to GL – Automatically transfer billing and revenue recognition information to leading accounting packages • Separate Billing vs Revenue Recognition Schedules – Send invoices on a separate schedule from your revenue recognition • Automatic Credit Adjustments – Modifications to campaigns automatically trigger credit adjustments in the GL • Modified Billing Dashboard – Easily track if a campaign’s billing has been modified before generating an invoice batch • Missing/Invalid Billing Dashboards – Track campaigns that are missing billing and/or have invalid billing defined • And more!
"With the release of Invoicing 2009, we have focused on delivering features that reduce manual entry by the finance team," explains Joe Cotugno, Vice-President of Client Services at Ayuda Media Systems. "By minimizing human intervention, BMS.net minimizes the likelihood of errors, and consequently makes the finance team’s job more efficient."

Ayuda Selected As Founding Gateway in Ebiz For Media Initiative
American Association Of Advertising Agencies’ Ebiz For Media Initiative Secures Commitment From Leading Technology Vendors As Founding Gateways
New York, NY - August 21, 2006 - The American Association of Advertising Agencies’ ebiz for media initiative has secured the commitment of Ayuda Media Systems, Donovan Data Systems, eMediaTRADE, Harris Corporation, Spot Buy Spot, Video Communications Inc., and Vio Worldwide to be Founding Gateways (formerly known as Hubs). The ebiz for media Gateways are logical business entities that are responsible for orchestrating electronic transactions to and from trading partners using XML standardized messages. These companies will lead the industry in creating an environment to allow easy and secure exchange of electronic transaction information across all advertising media.
"The gateways are critical to the success of the eBiz initiative. These leading companies will facilitate the two-way movement of messages between buyers and sellers. Without them, two-way electronic transactions cannot happen," said Mike Donahue, EVP, AAAA and co-CEO, Ad-ID and ebiz for media.
The Founding Gateways represent technology partners of media sellers and media buyers across various media, including print, local television and radio, national cable, and out-ofhome. These media are closest to implementing industry standards and the participants have, at a minimum, the beginnings of an electronic infrastructure in place.
The Founding Gateways will be instrumental in creating the necessary requirements for the AAAA Registry, which holds all critical information necessary for trading partners, their system vendors, and the Gateways to connect electronically and securely. The close interaction of this small group will work to fast-track testing of industry standards in conjunction with the Registry, thus ensuring mass adoption moving forward. The participation of a small, dedicated group will move the ebiz for media initiative forward in the timeliest fashion and the guidelines will be made available to the industry for a controlled comment period upon their completion.
The commitment comes in the way of developing a working gateway, the testing of the gateways, and a financial contribution as the AAAA’s ebiz for media continues to make significant progress in encouraging the industry to adopt e-business processes.
