Ayuda Media Systems (Ayuda), makers of the world’s most sophisticated software platform for traditional and digital OOH companies, has today unveiled a new version of Juice™ (the sales part of the Ayuda Platform) that have been built from the ground up as a native iOS App, targeting iPad, iPad Mini, and iPhone. JuiceTM for iPad is a particularly exciting option – with a few taps of their finger, sales reps can generate beautiful proposals based on live avails with maps and photo sheets that can be sent to the client.
Andreas Soupliotis, President & CEO of Ayuda Media Systems stated “Juice has been an enormous success for us. Our clients love the fact that their sales teams have been empowered with CRM and proposal making tools built exclusively for OOH. But Juice was originally built as an HTML5 web app, optimized for a notebook or desktop experience that commands the usage of a mouse, not a finger, which is fatter than a mouse. Today, we just added a native iOS version of Juice.”
He continued: “Increasingly, we see more and more OOH sales reps using iPads. Mature software vendors should really offer both an HTML5 experience and a native app, because the HTML5 version just doesn’t scale down perfectly to a device. For example, when we try and make an HTML5 app “scale” down to a iPad, we experience “fat-fingering” when trying to select basic user interface elements such as drop-downs, and check boxes. Also, native applications are hardware accelerated and richer, while browser-applications are less richer. Moreover, the trend for apps right now is to a use single-page app layout, something which doesn’t always make sense on the desktop”. Soupliotis has always been passionate about the “app versus HTML5” debate and has given public talks on the subject.
He summarized by stating, “if you’re a serious software vendor, you’ve got to offer both. Trying to hit two birds with one stone (i.e. HTML5) leaves you with a weak mobile story. And being empowered while mobile for sales reps is critical – they are always on the go, and they love their iPads.”
